Ordering & Payment

All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD). Payment is processed securely through Stripe and PayPal. We do not store your full payment card details.

An order is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed.

Made to Order Linocuts & Engravings

Many of the artworks on this site, particularly hand-painted linocuts, are completed to order rather than held in pre-painted stock. Please allow 10 - 14 business days for your piece to be individually printed and for hand-painted linocuts - to be painted before it is shipped.

I can sometimes have something ready in a hurry, you will need to contact me before ordering if you need something urgently.

Limited Editions & Authenticity

Each artwork is part of a stated limited edition and may be hand-printed and, where applicable, individually hand-painted. As each piece is finished by hand, minor variation between prints within the same edition is expected and is a natural feature of the process, not a fault.

Edition size is stated on each product page. You can enquire directly using the contact form to be updated on any edition’s availability.

When your artwork is shipped, Rachel will send you a signed Certificate of Authenticity and Provenance which will include all the details of the limited edition print that you purchase.

Materials & Care

The linocuts are printed onto handmade papers. These papers have been especially selected by Rachel for their own intrinsic beauty & character. There are sometimes inclusions of bark & other naturally occurring fibres. This is not a fault but part of the handmade quality of the paper.

All the materials Rachel uses for creating the artworks have been selected for their quality and longevity. The papers are archival and acid free, all paints, inks and pastels are lightfast and of artist quality.

Never hang an artwork where it will be in full sun for any period of the day. Make sure that a work on paper is not hung in an area that has moisture or damp. Use stick-on bumpers on the back of the frame to create a space between the wall and the back of the picture for air to circulate.

Check your picture regularly to make sure that it’s not getting moisture inside the framing. A telltale sign is if you see ‘foxing’ which is an orange/brown speckled mould forming on either the mat board or the artwork itself. If this happens, take the picture to a framer who can recommend a paper restorer.

Shipping

Shipping costs, packaging methods, and delivery timeframes are set out on in the shipping page. MORE SHIPPING INFO

Shipping costs are calculated based on artwork size, value, and destination, and are shown at checkout before payment is finalised.

Returns Refunds & Your Rights

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Change of mind

As each artwork involves a significant amount of hand-printing and, for many pieces, individual hand-painting time, and as works on paper can be easily damaged if re-packed incorrectly for return shipping, Rachel is not able to offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind. Please contact Rachel if you have any questions about a piece, including size, colour, or condition, before ordering.

Damage in Transit

If an artwork arrives damaged in transit, please contact Rachel within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage and packaging. Claims made after 7 days may not be eligible for compensation from the postal/courier service.

Damage caused by careless handling of the artwork during or after unpacking

Artwork on paper is fragile and easily damaged in an unframed state. My advice is that you take the unopened package straight to your chosen professional picture framer (who carry insurance against damage), before attempting to unpack it yourself.

If you decide to go ahead and unpack it anyway, Rachel is not liable for any damage that is caused by the piece being handled in an unframed state.

Engravings and linocuts require flattening out from being rolled in a tube. Linocuts on fine handmade paper in particular can be creased incredibly easily with careless handling. A professional picture framer is trained in how to flatten a work on paper without damaging it.

Framing

Professional framing is available for artworks purchased for pickup within the Sydney metropolitan area only.

Framing is arranged after the purchase of the artwork and is an added-on cost. Framing is not available for artworks shipped elsewhere.

Framed images shown on product pages are mock-ups for scale reference and to show how the work can look with a simple gallery-style framing. Prints are sold unframed unless framing has been separately arranged.

Please choose the picture framer you use carefully. If they mainly frame memorabilia and mirrors, I would recommend widening your search. It is important for the long enjoyment and protection of your artwork that the right archival materials are used in the framing.

I would recommend using Art Glass (sometimes called museum glass), which has a high U.V. rating and is non-reflective.

Studio Visits

In-person studio visits (Sydney) and virtual studio visits (video call) can be arranged via the form on the Contact Page. Studio visits do not obligate you to purchase, and are offered as a service to help you view artworks more closely before deciding.

Please restrict your party to no more than 4 people as my studio is not large and cannot accommodate more.

Unfortunately I cannot offer studio visits for curiosity about how I make the work, except in exceptional circumstances.
